There are a lot of reasons as to why I love Philadelphia. The people. The history. The culture. The community feel in an urban landscape. All together, it can be a wonderful place to live and raise a family. One of my top reasons though for loving this city? There’s always something to explore. It can be trying the latest new restaurant in Center City. A gallery opening with your significant other. A new pop-up beer garden you’ve been meaning to attend. In this case, regular weekday sightseeing in Old City with a new friend.
We often don’t take the time to explore our own cities. In this case, it was a welcome change and a chance to learn something new in a familiar place. To that end, this dress is the perfect sightseeing attire to explore a new (or old) city.
This is such a beautiful outfit for playing tourist. I love a classic shirt dress. It feels so light and casual while still making you look like you’re exploring the southern coast of Italy. The subtle stripe design is gorgeous and a nice way to stand out from the typical jeans and a t-shirt tourist look. Bonus, this Madewell tote is the perfect travel bag or everyday bag. In fact, I wear it almost on a daily basis. I would wear this dress while doing some daytime exploring and then later in the day, for dinner at a fun new place. Just make sure you put a pair of flats in your bag, just in case.
Do you have any vacations coming up? Any sightseeing days in Philadelphia? If so, what are you planning on wearing? Where are you planning on going? I’d love to hear about your travel plans! xo, Tanya
